Tyonek is the capital and second largest city of the Federal Republic of Wassilia. It is located in the central portion of the country in the Austaras province lying along the western bank of the Wallach Sea where the Austaras River empties into. The population of the city is 2,175,560 and is one of the two cities with over 2 million inhabitants in the urban center. The city experiences an hudmid continental climate with warm but not hot summers and cool to cold wet winters. Snow is common during the winter but not abundantly so.
History
The city of Tyonek was founded in the Wallach Sea Inner Coast basin as it was a logical trading fort location with access to sea points and inland via the Austaras River.

Financial Center
Tyonek is largely the financial center of the nation and houses the largest population of foreign visa holders as well as foreign embassies. The central bank and many of Wassilia's top companies, as well as foreign businesses call Tyonek home. The city is renowned in the region for having a top-notch restaurant industry and fine arts community.
Service Industy
In modern Tyonek, the fastest growing economic sector is the service industry. As the Wassilian economy matures, businesses in the engineering, law, computer sciences and healthcare become the most in need. Manufacturing has pushed out into the suburban and smaller cities creating and influx of young professionals to the Tyonek city center.
Government
The city of Tyonek is run by a mayor as major executive and a city council. The city council is a 15 member group of which each member is elected to a 4 year term with a limit of 2 consecutive terms. Council members are limited to 3 consecutive terms.
The current mayor of Wassilia is Vadimus Prin. Prin is a native of Tyonek's suburban area, a lawyer and former district attorney with a master of law degree from Austaras University.
