The UFPO-41 is an advanced light tank and fire support vehicle designed by the Centralne Imperium Omandii’s Grupa Badawcza Pojazdów Opancerzonych and manufactured by the Ujście Fabryka Pojazdów Opancerzhonyc. It is the first domestically designed hull for an armored fighting vehicle made in the CIO since its occupation by the OSSR in the 1950s. The vehicle is intended to supplement the PFC-88 main battle tank by acting in the armed reconnaissance and fire support roles. Collaboration with the Trinovantan Forente Forsvar Landsystemer company allowed for the vehicle to be equipped with several advanced systems.

Armament

The primary armament of the UFPO-41 is the Ostrołęka Zbrojownia A12/08Z1 120mm smoothbore cannon. This is a variant of the same cannon mounted on the PFC-88 main battle tank and possesses largely the same capabilities. The Z1 variant is intended for mounting on lighter platforms, like the UFPO-41. It possesses an increased recoil length and hydraulic recoil damper as well as a high efficiency muzzle brake. These modifications increased the weight of the cannon and its mount significantly, up to over 4000 kilograms, but allowed the cannon to be mounted to lighter platforms that would normally be damaged by the firing of such a powerful weapon. On the UFPO-41, the A12/08Z1 cannon is mounted to an unmanned turret equipped with an autoloader. The turret contains 16 rounds ready to fire contained within two horizontal racks of 8 at the back of the turret. The autoloader is capable of a sustained 8 rounds per minute. The system is capable of unloading the gun and returning the round to its previous location in the ready ammunition stowage. The hull has storage for an additional 16 rounds. The UFPO-41 is capable of carrying and firing the same ammunition as the PFC-88, which includes the improved tungsten APFSDS and the multipurpose HEDP round, as well as the laser guidedOszczep” missile. When equipped with Oszczep missiles, the UFPO is capable of engaging targets at ranges up to 5000 meters. Replenishment of the autoloader can be done via a removable rear panel on the turret which covers a reloading port. The crew must dismount the vehicle and then feed rounds individually through the loading port, then wait as the autoloader cycles the loaded rounds into the next position. An empty rack can be fully replenished in about 5 minutes in field conditions.

The secondary armament of the UFPO-41 consists of a coaxial Końskie Zakład Broni UKM-2000 general purpose machine gun, which carries 500 rounds ready to fire in the unmanned turret. A single reload for the coaxial gun is carried in the hull storage of the vehicle. Reloading can be accomplished through an access panel on the left of the turret. The vehicle’s commander has access to a Trinovantan FFLS Sentinel remote weapon system, which usually mounts a 12.7mm WKM-B heavy machine gun but can be configured for a variety of weapons.
