The Office for Signals Intelligence (UIS) is a national-level intelligence agency of Arcadia, under the authority of the Chairman of the Intelligence Council. The UIS is responsible for monitoring, collection, and processing of information and data for foreign and domestic intelligence and counterintelligence purposes, specializing in a discipline known as signals intelligence (SIGINT). UIS is also tasked with being the premier cybersecurity and communications division of Arcadian intelligence.

Originally a division of the SIE, the premier intelligence agency of the Socialist Republic, the UIS was responsible for the collection and decryption of hostile communications, as well as encrypt Arcadian communications. The SIE, along with the Socialist Republic, was dissolved in 1974. In 1981, many former agents of leaders of the SIE were recruited for the UIS. The organization was split from the main successor to the SIE in a controversial policy by the Arcadian Senate.

The UIS currently conducts mass data collection and agents of the UIS have been known to physically bug electronic devices. The UIS has been known to collaborate with andd hack telecommunications. The UIS, alongside the Strategic Intelligence Service (SIS), maintains a physical presence in many countries across the globe, allegedly in Arcadian diplomatic missions. Countries and groups thought to be threats of Arcadia have allegedly been targets of data collection, and joint SIS-UIS missions have allegedly place electronic bugs and devices in other countries.

Unlike the SIS and the Defense Intelligence Agency (AID), both of which specialize primarily in foreign human espionage, the UIS does not publicly conduct human-source intelligence gathering. The UIS is entrusted with providing assistance to, and the coordination of, SIGINT elements for other government organization, but remains a "rival" of other intelligence agencies. As part of these responsibilities, the agency has a co-located organization called the Central Security Service (SSC). To further ensure streamlined communication between the signals intelligence community divisions and agencies lacking SIGINT capabilities, the UIS Director maintains regular meetings with other agencies.
