Ameriga, officially the Commonwealth of the Union of Ameriga, is a large South Amerigan nation of 330 million people. To the nation's immediate south is the Providence Sea. To the north, south and west are other nation states with whom Ameriga has favorable interactions with. Governmentally the Union is one of the largest Federal Republics on the planet boasting that it is the largest active democracy with participation in general elections hovering around 80%. The Union has in the past waged wars to spread the democratic ideology it has abroad and was the root cause of the Great War (2017 - 2023) which saw the Union be struck by none less than six nuclear warheads. The retaliatory strike in turn against Austra caused a combined invasion force comprising the Global Peace Council ended the Last War and demilitarized the Union and its enemy. Overall the Union never got over its loss in that war and while it has managed to integrate itself into the World Society, it has never been an enthusiastic member and one that is suspected of coups and assassinations. Though none are officially proven.
