Kaharnism (Tamashek: Kaharna Addin, ⴽⴰⵁⴰⵔⵏⴰ ⴰⴷⴷⵉⵏ;Tamaziɣt: Kahina-ddin, ⴽⴰⵁⵉⵏⴰ-ⴷⴷⵉⵏ) is an ancient Scipian religion originating in the 4th century BCE, and is the oldest surviving form of traditional Amaziɣ religion. It is highly syncretic in charachter, adopting foreign gods and beliefs through contact with outside groups and spawning multiple syncretic sects such as Itmassanism and Tamddaism. These syncretized Kaharnic religions often modify or wholly overrite the teachings of the older forms of the faith as they adopt the principles of foreign faiths which contradict some Kaharnist teachings. The less syncretic versions of the faith are called "root Kaharnism" to distinguish it from the syncretized Kaharnic faiths and avoid confusion. Root Kaharnism, along with many of its derivatives, have no strong central religious authority and instead follow a form of decentralized monasticism.

Adherents of Kaharnism are taught to accept the world as it exists in all espects except the saddis alɣar or "Six Rejections". These six rejections of root Kaharnism are the rejection of violence, possesiveness, absolutism, attachment, dishonesty and vanity, and make up what can be considered the equivalent of the cardinal sins in root Kaharnism, with modified version appearing in other Kaharnic religions.
