The Constitutional Republic of Freedonia, or C.R.F. (CRF), better known as Freedonia, is a federal presidential constitutional repulic in central Fernost. The nation spans 4,742,424 square kilometers and has a diverse geography of mountainous areas in the Northwest, fertile and flat croplands in the Southwest, and a mixed terrain of rolling hills, mountians, forrests, and plains in the North, Northeast, East, and Southeastern regions of the country. It consits of 48 states, a federal distric, a Department of Defense controlled island, and 80 island territories. The Constituitonal Republic of Freedonia shares land borders with the Obets United Republic and the Allied States of Urdasia, as well as maritime borders with The Seafaring Medical Techno-Federation of Doctors Orvos. The Constitutional Republic of Freedonia is the most populous country in Fernost. 165,000,000 people call themselves Freedonian, with 99.9% of them speaking the de facto language of American English. The national capital of the C.R.F is Washington D.C, and its most populous city and principal finanical center is New York City.
Etymology
The first evidence of the phrase "Constitutional Republic of Freedonia" dates back to a proposal of Congress, the President, and 40 states to reform the United States of America into a new nation. This was due to a fact that multiple people of the old nation believed that the Unied States was on its way to becoming too involved with world politics, and after many veterans returned from the war, decided that instead of entering a downward spiral into chaos, would instead form a new nation. This nation would hold the values of the United States, but would turn away from the globalist movement that was starting to take effect.
