Eunik is a puppet nation I started to develop with Azertie before it disappeared. I'm saving my thoughts here for the moment.
About Montesina, Azertie and Eunik | Aristian Republic Origins
Montesina is currently closer to a "Banana Republic" than to a Modern Democracy, due to its long-standing president José Ubiña. The the southern cities have some degree of anti-Ubiña sentiment, and more like a "blend identity" with northern Azertians. Something related to colonist impulses that drove to skirmishes in the frontier between Montesinos, Azertians and Eunik people. Eunik settlers settling at the borders of rivers in south, before a clear definition on frontiers. It's implied OOC that some settlers from Aristian Republic came to southern Montesina because of some Azertien policy to "basque" people. They could be like French and Spanish "Basque Country". On a personal note, it also links Astyrian Nations to Anaian Nations.
Proposed Introduction Text
The Euni River divides Azertie and Montesina. However, the people living around the region isn't exactly Montesinan or Azertien. They established themselves an unique indentity, as the Eunik people. They even had its own "consultive assembly", and a proper state, that was "presented" to them in order to limit some previous skirmishes.
The government of the "Consortium/Community of Eunik" is composed by the Assembly (That is the Official Parliament for the Community and an Advisor board for Region Autónoma del Sur - or Iparreunik - in Montesina and the Hegoeunik region in Azertie)
