Valdost is a large town in Výchon, Durnstaal. It first began forming in 1844 when the first citizens, displaced mainly from in and around Zabevgorod, began living in the area. By 1905 the settlement had grown to a population of over 1500 and was officially founded as a township and named Valdost in honor of the family of the first settlers.
