The Vestric State was the common name that was used to refer to the Second Vesperian Republic from 1922 to 1953, when Attavanio and the Vestric Collectivist Party came to power following the Victoria Presidium Attacks and eventually coup in 1922, granting him emergency powers and allowing his party to rule the nation as an Avantist Single-Party State. Under Attavanio and the party's rule, the nation quickly transformed into a totalitarian state following the implementation of the Societal Purification Programs which saw not only the near-complete control of all aspects of civilian life at the hands of the government, but as well as the eradication of political dissidents, opposition, homosexuals, disabled peoples and people of "inferior mental capabilities" in an attempt to cleanse society of inferiors, degenerates and people who hindered "National Ascension". Officially known as the All-Vestric National Collective, adhering to the the Renovatist Interpretation of the People's State, but was sometimes referred to as the Third Vesperian Republic by its supporters and members of the party, first two being the the Pan-Vestric Vesperian Empire and the preceding regime in power prior to the Blue Revolution in 1914.

Attavanio was the Prime Secretary of the Second Republic prior to the coup, appointed by Consul XXX, on 30 January 1921, proving to be a major boost for the growing Collectivist Party. Clashes between the paramilitary arms of the Collectivist Party and various other parties were common as they began to eliminate all political opposition and consolidate its power. Following the Consul's death on 17 August 1922 and an attack on the National Presidium, killing various major government figures, Attavanio was given emergency powers and scheduled an election in September until the Collectivists staged a coup, with high public support, in an attempt to eliminate opposition, allowing him to rule the country with unlimited power. All power was centralised in Attavanio and his word became above all laws. The government was not a coordinated, co-operating body, but a collection of factions struggling for power and Attavanio's favour. During the Global Depression, Attavanio managed to restore economic stability and ended mass unemployment using heavy military spending and the implementation of new policies which increased government control over the economy. Extensive public works were undertaken which helped to increase government efficiency and civilian life, further increasing the regime's popularity.

Differing radically from most totalitarian states of its time, the Vestric State adhered to Avantism, a radical fundamentalist subset of Futurism know for being fiercely statist and anti-traditionalist, advocating for the total reorganisation of society and aggressive unrestricted technological and scientific advancement, seeing it as an absolute necessity in order to improve and ascend the human condition and benefit all members of society, creating a flexible and efficient society totally free of tradition and morality, both seen as detrimental to the ascension process. This led to the state committing horrendous human rights violations, atrocities and mass human experimentation throughout its existence and the First Vestric War. Influenced by Vestric Unificationist Thought, members of the party and Attavanio himself called for Continent-wide Ascension and the unification of Vestrim under an Avantist Superstate. The state's increasingly aggressive territorial demands and hostility to many of the nations on the continent eventually resulted in the invasion of XXX, starting the First Vestric War. The State's attempt to implement the Societal Purification Program across the continent resulted in the Great Catastrophe, considered as one of the largest mass atrocities in the Modern Era and the largest in Vestric history, where undesirables and those who opposed Continental Ascension where killed in a mass genocide.[...]
