The Vianna Deer, shortened to Vianna for plural is a unique species of deer in that it's not a ruminant and has a gallbladder because of that has a carnivorous diet. The Vianna are even-toed ungulates or Artiodactyla. The Vianna Deer is known for not shedding their antlers but keeping it all year round.

The Vianna are very important animals to ilaneans due to their domestication and then mythological worship. The Vianna have received a holiday named after them called Parkeanna Na Vianna in which ilaneans fast from eating viannan prey and hunt viannan predators.

A Vianna Deer can run at sustained speeds of up to 56km/h,

Habitation

The habitats of a Vianna Deer is very limitied and Vianna can only really be naturally found in a few select enviornments. Due to their diet Vianna are restricted to being within an estkmated 200km (although this figure has been debated) of a water source. Whilst usually habitating around saltwater due to the abundance of fish in the area Vianna can also be observed habitating around freshwater sources. The Vianna Deer are also limitied to being in temperate climates.

The Vianna Deer are native to the nations of Lethia and Njordrlann. The Vianna evolved in Lethia and migrated south-east to Njordrlann, then in 963ad theough colonization The Vianna was brought to Assumptaria.

Description

Viannan stags are 2.6m (8.5ft) and 800kg (1.8lb). As a deer Viannans are very skilled at swimming and running which comes in handy for both hunting and fleeing from predators. However in order to retain the best possible vision Viannan Deer lack a Tapetum Lucidum and therefore cannot see well in the dark.

The skeleton of the Vianna Deer is record-breaking in that it was one of the most flexible out of all deers enabling the Vianna Deer to escape it's predators, chase down it's prey and reach 56m/h speeds.

Sexual Dimorphism between Viannan stags and Viannan doe is quite pronounced as males often tend to be half a foot taller, have a darker shade of a red coat whilst the womens re lighter and males have antlers.

Diet

Due to it's muscular stature and location the Viannan Deer has to forgo a herbivore diet to get more a protein rich source of food. This is why the Viannan Deer is a carnivore. The Viannan Deer feeds mainly on saltwater fish such as the Salmon but it can also be observed eating freshwater fish if it is nearby. The Salmon are often rumoured as being the only thing the Viannan Deer eats but this is a misconception.

The Viannan Deer has also been observed jumping and eating birds but this is rare and onky applies to birds resting in nests or their eggs.

Human Interaction

The Vianna was domesticated in what is now Modern-day Njordrlann. Unlike other domesticated animals especially other deer the Vianna were not being economically exploited for their meat or pelt instead they were being used as a mode of transport. The Vianna were exceptional for this. This purpose for the Vianna soon started to fade with the invention of motor vehicles available to the public.

The ilaneans soon started to worship the Vianna and began to write mythology about itand dedicated an entire holiday lasting the Vianna mating season. The holiday has allowed the Vianna to flourish in the wild due to an increased supply of food and a decreased number of predators.
