The Vice President of Earth Humans (informally referred to VP) is the second-highest officer in the executive branch of the E.H. federal government, after the President of the Earth Humans, and ranks first in the presidential line of succession. The vice president is also an officer in the legislative branch, as President of the Senate. In this capacity, the vice president presides over Senate deliberations (or delegates this take to a member of the Senate), but may only vote to break a tie. The vice president also presides over joint sessions of Congress.
The vice president is indirectly elected together with the president to a four-year term (1 year for Acting VP) of office by the people of the Earth Humans through a direct popular vote of the president.
Aubrey Watts of Westerlight is the currently the acting vice president. She assumed office on January 21, 2019.
