ProfessionOffice of Interstellar Intelligence agent (former)

Vincent De Maser (born December 11, 2554) is a Interstellar politician and serving as both the President of the Interstellar Federation and Governor of Earth. He served as a former Office of Interstellar Intelligence agent and to date is the youngest person to hold the Presidential office.

During his service as an operative of the Office of Interstellar Intelligence, Vincent De Maser was responsible for gaining intelligence on the government of the Confederation of Planets during the Milky Way Conflict.

After the war, he retired from service as an agent and took up politics, joining the Interstellar Democratic Party, where he was elected in 2586 to become the Governor of Earth, his home planet. De Maser reaffirmed Earth as the heart of the Interstellar Federation and was well known for implementing the "Open Arms Policy" where Earth became more open to free trade.

De Maser was the Galactic Alliance Party's candidate for the 2591 Presidential election, where he gained a landslide victory against Union Party candidate, John Van Adamson.

As he was an operative for the OII, De Maser acquired extremely potent psionic abilities from his years of service. This marks the first time in almost two centuries where the leader of the Federation was a psionic individual. Henceforth, De Maser has taken a much more personal role in leading the Federation through use of his psionic abilites. While unconfirmed, it is said that De Maser has the ability of precognition where he can sense the future. This has led to some concern from opposing politicians who believe De Maser may be abusing his powers for his own gains.

Early life and career

Vincent De Maser was born on December 11, 2554 in New York City, Earth at Solar Unity Hospital. His parents were Gordon De Maser, a neurosurgeon and Christine Hua, an astrophysicist. Although he was born into a wealthy family, both his parents were avid philanthropists and had a profound influence on De Maser to be charitable and compassionate to all people.

De Maser attended Selar Primary School and then the Manhattan Center for Science and Mathematics, graduating in 2572 to study law and medicine at Axios University. It was there where he met his future wife, Li Lizu. He studied at Axios for four years and was a genius student, earning a PhD in both medicine and law. After his studies, he joined the Office of Interstellar Intelligence, which expressed interest in De Maser's genius. He operated as both a field agent and office agent, eventually attaining the rank of a handler or case agent. He served in the OII for four years, and was responsible for several operations on monitoring the government of the Confederacy of Planets. He received an award of merit from the incumbent President at the time, Jason Hiricraft, which influenced him later to choose a career of politics.

Political career

Governor of Earth

After De Maser retired from the OII in 2580, he began a year-long travel of the Milky Way Galaxy, journeying to over 200 systems and getting many new experiences from across the Milky Way, especially meeting other sentient species, which reaffirmed his beliefs in pursuing a position in society that would allow him to further benefit all peoples. So, after concluding his journey, he returned to his home planet, Earth and while practising both medicine and law, he joined the Interstellar Democratic Party and thanks to his charm and genius, quickly rose through the ranks and became quite popular and influential. He pressed the notion of more attention being paid to Earth, believing it was essential to stability and economic revival. He also pressed the idea of an "Open Arms Policy", which would be relaxing the stringent trade flowing into Earth, which had initially been legislated for fear of illegal smuggling, at the cost of the economic prosperity of Earth. De Maser was the prime candidate for the Interstellar Democratic Party and won the election with a 75% majority vote compared to the Union Party candidate, Hui-Lee.
