The Federal Republic of Aziya is the largest nation in Septentrion by both landmass and population. It has a population of around 1.4 billion and it's capital city is Stengorod and it is one of the largest cities on the planet, other major urban centers include Nishikyo, Dolinygrad, Novgorod, Fukouka and Pormoryugrad. The Federal Republic of Aziya is primarily inhabited by the Aziyans. The capital city is Stengorod which lies on the coast.
It extends across the Northern two-thirds of Kaea from the crimson sea in the East, to the Zipangese Sea in the West. It shares a land border with Mozria to the North-East, a border with New Tyran to the South-East.
Etymology
Vuortakane is believed to come from Vuortentakainen Maa, or "The Land Beyond the Mountains" in Common, which is based on the name given by Minilovian and Slavic travellers and invaders to what is now modern day Vuort.

The government of Aziya is often referred to as a Federal Semi-democracy. The head of state is the President who is elected every eight years and appoints half the members of the Imperial Duma and half the members of the Federal Duma every four years. An eighth of seats in both the Imperial and Federal Dumas are appointed by the Zipangese Emperor every eight years. The rest of the seats are elected. This means 62.5% of the seats in both Dumas are either non-elected or indirectly elected with only 37.5% of seats open for election every four years.
