Walter Frederick "Fritz" Mondale (born January 5, 1928) is an American politician who served as the 41st President of the United States from 1984 to 1992. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served as the 42nd vice president of the United States under President Jimmy Carter from 1977 to 1981, United States Senator from Minnesota from 1964 to 1976, and the 23rd Attorney General of Minnesota beforehand from 1960 to 1964.
