History of Quenmin |
The Wars of the Successors, also known as the Liễu Dynastic Wars, was a series of civil wars instigated by the brothers, sisters, sons and daughters of the Liễu emperor Liễu Thủ Tông. Due to the Emperor's increasing dependency on Empress Nhã Uyên, of whom was eager to gain power and restore the rule of the dynasty through deceptive and dictatorial means, many of these family members rebelled against imperial rule and one another for their proclamations of legitimacy.
According to the Annals of the Last Years of the Liễus, there were a total of twelve wars that have been instigated by the last members of the royal family. The wars first started in the imperial capital of Cẩm Phả, then it spread throughout the entirety of the dynastic territory.
