The West Phoenicia Empire First Party was founded in 1915 by Roman Van Dyke.

It is the largest centrist party in West Phoenicia and is in a union with; Justice Party of West Phoenicia, Animal Justice Party and the Democratic Monarchist Party.

The West Phoenicia Empire First Party and The Antebellum Conservative Party Party are the two major parties that have spent the most time in government.

As of 2010 they are the Opposition to the Coalition.

History

Roman Van Dyke founded the party in 1915. His dream was to have a party that supported left and right wing policies but from a moderate point of view, believing that it could bring a positive balance to the region with it's mix of economic policies, welfare programs, moderate conservatism and social justice.

From 1915 to 1925 the West Phoenicia Empire First Party spent there time promoting the party and working to unite other centrist parties in the region.

They had some good success at the start picking up a few seats in a few of the city-states. They were more popular with those in the cities, than country and rural voters. And membership was made up of mainly the working class.

The party had the biggest support in the city-states of Jackson, Upper and Lower West Phoenicia and Tallahassee Central. Where the party had it a first city-state branches. As of 2020 they have branches in all 53 city-states.

Roman Van Dyke who was a member for the city-state of Jackson and the first elected member of the party died of a heart attack while on the parliament floor. He was the first member of parliament to die of natural causes and still holds that record.

During the World Wars, the party supports a strong neutral stance, but we're quick to brace West Phoenician Nationalism and support the war efforts when West Phoenician interests were attacked and threatened.

After both wars West Phoenicia welcomed in an influx of immigrants. A policy that the party had strongly supported and bore fruit among the new working class immigrants that supported the party.

From the 1940's the party focused on establishing unions for all work places. Increased workers wages, and pushed to remove discrimination in the workplace.

TThe party continued to grow and during the 50's stayed in power for the whole decade. During that time a number of the Conservative policies were reverses. And the party nominates two justices to sit on the West Phoenician Supreme Court.

It fully supported the War with Empire of North Ivoria, especially when the West Phoenician ambassador and his family were murdered. Their focus was on diplomacy first, and when that failed where fully supportive of military intervention.

During the 60s and 70s, womens and minority rights continued to be policies the party supported. As well as a new focus on the environment.

During the times, many of the younger members of the party took to the streets to protest for change.

The party took on a more centre-left ideology during this phase. The right faction were able to stop too much damage in areas of stripping further entitlements from the royal family and opposing right wing free speech and what they saw as the war on religion as well as the younger generation protesting the current wars.

After slipping in seats due to a number of radical policies, the party swung back to a centrist platform.

During the 80s the party introduced legislation against drugs, corporate greed and invested money into the health systems.

The West Phoenicia Empire First Party through out their time since creation have made an effort to support the monarchy and the ruling monarch, no matter how liked or loathed they are.

During the reign of Queen Jezebel Bush between 2000 and 2010, due to their choice not to speak out the party was not targeted by the queen. The small number who did voice opposition to her reign were removed from the party.

When the 5th West Phoenician civil war ignited the party supported the queen. Many members were later accused of assisting in war crimes and turning a blind eye to citizens who protested, being exiled, sent to prison or executed.

Only towards the end when she was losing the battle did a number of party members switch their alliance.

Party Leader Anton Moore was killed in a bomb blast in 2010, just as the 5th West Phoenician civil war was winding down. Anton Moore was perceived by many as a sell out for supporting the queen. The Free West Phoenicia Movement claimed responsibility for the bombing.

After the civil war many called for Emperor Glenton Gryphon-Bush II to ban the party. Instead he chose to forgive many of the members.

West Phoenicia Empire First Party assisted in rebuilding damaged cities in the aftermath.

From 2010 The Coalition was able to win government on the national level. Citizens began to mean more conservative as the population voted for a party that had strong economic policies and a return to traditional values.

The West Phoenicia Empire First Party has been in opposition now since the 2010 General National Election where they suffered a major swing against them. The 2013, 2016 and 2019 General National Elections has seen the party continue to lose seats. They cling to the role of official opposition due to the Centrist alliance that pushes up the number of seats they have in parliament.

Party leaders have talked about going back to basics of West Phoenician unity, welfare policies and social justice, to stop the decline in seats and memberships.

Adherence to the principles of a stable mixed economy.
Marriage Equality
Support of West Phoenicia produce and industry, opposed to cheap imports that could result in loss of jobs for West Phoenicians.
Imposing high tariffs on overseas companies with similar products.
Defence funding to stablise enough to defend the nation. Greater assistance for humanitarian efforts.
Increase in non-aggresion pacts.
2 new Public Hospitals per city state.
Increased rural healthcare.
Subsidized dental.
10,000 scholarships for students to study at private intuitions.
Universal childcare and kindergarten
Increase of workers wages by 2% each year, for next five years.
Increase in small Private business grants to encourage people to open up businesses.
War on hard drugs, continue to prosecute illegal drug dealers and suppliers, while an increase in Rehabilitation facilities to assist drug users.
Religious rights, continue to defend the religious rights of all those citizens who follow the recognized faiths of West Phoenicia.
