The Xanthus is a multi-role armored fighting vehicle produced by Syara.

Following the Zemplen War, the Syaran National Army deduced a need for a new armored vehicle platform to replace the wide array of infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers utilized by Syara during the conflict. Beginning in 2013 the SNA began exploring a design that would combine the weapons capability of a traditional IFV with the troop capacity of an personnel carrier. The Xanthus prototype was first fielded in 2015 and was accepted by the SNA the same year. Mass production of the design began in earnest between 2016-2017, and by 2020 total production was rated at 1,500 chassis.

The Xanthus is designated as a modular armored fighting vehicle combining large troop capacity (3 crew and 9 passengers), while also carrying heavier armaments, including an anti-tank guided missile launcher, a 12.7mm heavy machine gun, and a 20mm auto-cannon. The Xanthus serves primarily in mechanized infantry formations, and comes in several variants including and air-defense, electronic warfare, and command and control model. The Xanthus is expected to serve for decades to come.
