Xiannen Daily is a newspaper formerly owned by Yuaneze state media from 1981-2019, but since 2019 having been privately owned by Yuaneze pro-democracy activists Wei Xia, Mo He, and Quan Shun. It is widely circulated internationally as an independent source into the Yuaneze government's activities, reporting both state media-peddled stories in addition to underlying factors that Yuaneze state media tries to suppress.
In 2019, Wei, Mo, and Quan, along with several of the paper's staff, fled Yuan after the government of Xi Jingyi ordered the paper's closure and the arrest of its founders for publishing Yuaneze government documents which highlighted classified financial handlings by several top officials in the politburo. The paper's founders have since headquarted in Auckandia, Auraine, but reportedly maintain close connections with several undisclosed dissidents in the Yuaneze government and state media from which they have been able to disclose otherwise unreported stories.
