The LNFF (Liga Naçional de Futbol Ferramina) is the premier professional gridiron football league in Zoygaria. The LNFF has twenty franchises divided equally between two conferences: the Coastal Gridiron Conference (CCF) and the Interior Gridiron Conference (CIF). After a sixteen-game regular season, each conference sends five teams (four division winners and one wild card team) to the LNFF Playoffs, which eventually culminate in the league's championship game, the Iron Cup, named for the popular term for the game. Nationwide, the LNFF obtains one of the highest television ratings among major sports. Watching LNFF games on television on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons has become a common routine for many Zoygarians during the football season. Gridiron football is the second-most popular sport in the country, falling only behind association football and coming just ahead of fencing.

The LNFF was founded in 1935 as the National Football Conference (CNF) before renaming itself to the Iron League (1989) in reference to both the colloquial name of the sport and the name of the culminative final game of the season, finally settling upon National Gridiron Football League in 2007. The founding of the LNFF marked the union between the CCF and CIF football leagues, which had originally been separate since their inception, with the very first Iron Cup taking place between the winners of both leagues to determine the national champions. From then on, both leagues, now referred to as conferences, would often stick to in-conference matches before meeting up for the final bracket leading up to the Iron Cup, save for the occasional out-of-conference match. The Vitrio Crusaders hold the most Iron Cup titles at ten, with the runners up being the Delfi Corsairs at eight and the Lîšîvca Quasars at seven.
