== History ==
On March 28, 1979 the [[wikipedia:Three_Mile_Island_accident#Voluntary_evacuation|Three Mile Island accident]] occurred, and on March 29, 1979, elevated to a complete meltdown, spewing [[wikipedia:Radioactive_contamination|radioactive contaminants]] into the air, mostly eastward. President [[wikipedia:Jimmy_Carter|Jimmy Carter]] was yet to release a statement by the following week, being under radiation poisoning due to poor evacuation. Vice President (Now leader of the Remaining Western States of America) [[wikipedia:Walter_Mondale|Walter Mondale]], along with most of the Supreme Court, Congress, and House of Representatives, was relocated to San Francisco by March 30th 1979, which was promptly declared the emergency capital of the United States.
