South Chatten (Leucish: Sycos Chatten), is a federal state located on the island of Chatten. It is situated on the southern shores of the island and borders Chatten Strait, Poewyss Bay, and Helswig to the south, Lannascern to the south-west, the Septentriones Ocean, and Dunfast Bay to the west, West Chatten to the north-west, East Chatten to the north, and the Leucish Sea to the east. With a population of 3.5 million inhabitants, it is the 13th-most populous state and the 15th-densely populated. With an area of 29,017 km2 (11,204 sq mi), it is the 3rd-largest state by area. Its capital, Kessenduran, sits in the banks of the River Malyn, within the county of Sycos Poewyss. Nicknamed "The Coffee State", the state is known for its innovative creativity of coffee blends and its extensive coffee industry. The state is also known for its canning industry.
