Regarded as one of the best defenders in the world, Varri is renowned for his elite defensive IQ, passing finesse, long shots and leadership skills.
Varri began his career at a young age when he joined the youth wing of Atrescan club US Monte Sora in 1999, when he was aged just six. He played seven years at Monte Sora Youth before he relocated to Albasini and joined Aleanto Calcio's youth squad after their scouts were impressed at his defensive ability. He played two years at Aleanto's youth club before making his professional debut aged just 15 in an Atrescan Club match against fifth-division club FC Orroli in 2008, which ended in an 8-0 routing of the side. Varri would have spurts in the lineup until the 2009-10 season where he emerged fully as a 17-year-old. Following that season he played most of the 2010-11 season in the starting eleven of Aleanto, helping the club to 15 clean sheets, 22 wins and a third-place finish, behind one-season wonders 1963 Troping and Aleanto rival club AS Rocca. He resigned with Aleanto in 2012 and led them to two successive LegaUno titles in 2013 and 2014, the latter of which he was named LegaUno Player of the Year. He was announced as captain of the Aleanto squad in 2017, aged 24 and of the Atresca national team in 2018, aged 25. In the 2018-19 season, Varri was named as the [[Football Federation of Aeia|FFA]] Player of the Year.
