Saint Isidore's Parish is an Imaguan parish situated on the northern part of the island of Imagua. It situated to the southwest by Saint Florian's, to the south by Saint Ellen's, and to the east by Saint Fiacre's. If the Maracan-occupied Dunhelm Island is included, Saint Isidore's Parish is home to the northernmost point in the country.
Etymology
The parish is named after Saint Isidor the Labourer, as the patron saint of farmers, as the area was intended to be the "breadbasket" of the nascent Colony of Imagua.
Government
Saint Isidores's, like any other parish (except for the city of Cuanstad, and the Assimas Parish) is run by the parochial council (Etrurian: consiglio parrocchiale), comprising of fourty seats. The parochial council is led by a Chairman (Presidente), currently Trevor Moore. The parochial government is based in Nua Taois.
Like all other parishes except Cuanstad and the Assimas Islands, Saint Ellen's has very little authority, which has led to very low participation in parochial elections and government, with the average turnout for parochial elections only being around 22.5%.
Economy
As Saint Isidore's Parish is situated outside of the Cuanstad metropolitan area, unlike Saint Ellen's, the economy of Saint Isidore's Parish is not as reliant on Cuanstad. While since the 1950s, Nua Taois and Knowleston have become major economic centres for the parish, agriculture continues to be a key industry, especially in rural areas.
