Gloria Durrell (15 March 1947) is a Gallian soldier, schoolteacher and babysitter. She is known for being the babysitter of Field Marshal Kiriya Kitagawa during his youth. She currently serves under him as part of Task Force 141.
Early Life
Gloria was born in Anthold. She finished her college education in the University of Randgriz and was a certified kindergarten teacher. Aside from it, she also became a babysitter to many children. She loves children when she was in her teens even until today.
Teaching and being a babysitter
She became a kindergarten teacher because of her love of children. She is known as "lovable Ria" to many mothers and children. She would always go and see children's drawings and creations to tell them how happy she is and in the end, she would give them pasta made by her dear friend. In 1964, she caught the attention of Souma Kitagawa, who was the son of famous Lucian Field Marshal Daidoji Kitagawa. She was called in to take care of a young Kiriya Kitagawa, who was still 3 years old. She accepted the offer and did her job. She had a hard time disciplining the boy but eventually, she and the young Kiriya became closer. She would also tutor Kiriya whenever he had problems with his homeworks. Gloria loved the boy so much that she agreed to become his nanny and caretaker at least until he had become a teenager. The Kitagawa's eventually accepted Gloria to be an honorary member of the Kitagawa family. However, this was cut short when she returned to Gallia in 1977 as part of her dedication to serving her country. As a joke, Gloria left one word to Kiriya never to grow up so she can still play around with him.
Military Career
Durrell served during the Post-War of Lorican Aggression Crisis, The Troubles, and during the Second Lucis Civil War, during which she had reached her senior age. But this did nothing to stop her from serving her nation. In 2016, She reunited with Kiriya Kitagawa, who was already 55 years old. Kiriya and Gloria were delighted to see each other again after nearly 4 decades of not being able to see each other. She still joked him about not growing up and would eat dry oatmeal as punishment. Nonetheless, the bond between the two are still strong.
Kiriya reinstated her as the caretaker for his daughters Katsuragi, whom she called "Katsu" and the youngest, Yukari, whom she called "Loli". In return, they affectionately called her "Grandma". She also affectionately called Naoto, the second child of Kiriya as "Young Kiriya". Naoto also called her "Grandma".
