The Zovahr-class was a class of fast battleship of the Navy of the Syaran Republic. The class was meant to compliment and eventually supersede the Makedon-class after early testing and trials revealed several deficiencies within the latter. A total of ten ships were planned to be built, but by the outbreak of the Siduri War only four had been completed. An additional two were finished by summer of 1935, while the remaining four were never constructed. The six commissioned ships were designated the Children of Gaia, the Seeker of Truth, the Purity of Spirit, the Purveyor of Hope, the Guardian of Faith, and the Sentinel of Peace. The Sentinel of Peace was selected as the flagship of the Syaran Navy in 1935, a distinction it carried until the end of the war.
Originally, the Makedon-class was supposed to fulfill the role of fast battleship within the Syaran fleet, complimenting the slower Galania-class, but just months prior to the first Makedon-class being comissioned the Syaran Admiralty expressed its reservations regarding their small size and firepower. The Zovahr-class was intended to bridge that gap while being able to match against foreign counterparts, specifically the Amika Carpio-Class Battleship fielded by Cacerta. By the time of the invasion of Ruvelka the Children of Gaia, Seeker of Truth, Purity of Spirit, and the Purveyor of Hope had been commissioned. For the first two years of the war the Zovahr-class was deployed as a surface raider, sometimes assisting with shore bombardment in the Western Theater. The Guardian of Faith was commissioned in May 1935, followed by the Sentinel of Peace in July, bringing the total number to six. Plans for the remaining ships of the class were scrapped shortly after the Battle of the Sabri Sea. Although none were lost during the battle, the Children of Gaia and Guardian of Faith were both heavily damaged. In May 1936 the Seeker of Truth was torpedoed in the Sundering Sea and her crew was forced to scuttle her, becoming the first Zovahr-class to be lost. The Purveyor of Hope was later sunk at the Battle of the Mansuri Sea, during which the Children of Gaia was also heavily damaged and spent the rest of the war under repair.
The remaining four vessels were interned at Moddra following the Treaty of Debrecen. Per the terms of the treaty the four battleships were to be handed over to the Common Axis and distributed to the victors, but the Syarans scuttled all four along with the rest of their fleet. The Zovahr-class was the last battleship class to constructed by the Republic of Syara. .
