The National Marechaussee (NMAR) is one of the two national police forces of Atmora, alongside the Federal Police and one of the five branches of the Atmoran Armed Forces. The National Marechausseee are a gendermarie force performing military and civilian police duties, the Marechaussee is a unique branch of the Atmoran Forces due it being placed under the jurisdiction of the Department of State Security—with additional duties to the Department of National Defence.

Organisation and and specialities

The Marechaussee has been organised into different specialties divided into operational and support specialties

• General Marechaussee (Algemene Marechaussee) – Public Order and Prevention service
• Financial Marechaussee (Financiële Marechaussee) — border control enforcement, investigations, compliance and detention operations
  • Marechaussee Secret Service (Marechaussee Geheimdienst) — VIP close protection including the Royal Family and high-ranking government officials
  • Marechaussee Border Rapid Response Group (Marechaussee Grens Snelle Reactiegroep) — border guard special operations unit
  • Marechausee Criminal Investigation Bureau (Marechausee Recherchebureau) — investigations into crimes, including terrorism, murders and organized crime
• Mobile Marechausee (Mobiele Marechuassee) — riot control and traffic policing
• Maritime Marechaussee (Maritieme Marechaussee) – coast guard and fisheries inspection
• Marechaussee Security Service (Marechaussee Veiligheidsdienst) — Intelligence agency
• Marechaussee Special Security Assignments Group (Marechaussee Groep Speciale Beveiligingsopdrachten) — special forces for arrests, surveillance and protection
