During the 1943 Atmoran coup d'ètat attempt Count Rietschoten was part of the National Royalist Movement backing High Queen Katherine's putsch against Chancellor Louwrens van Geuzendam. Following the failed coup d'ètat Count Rietschoten fled with the High Queen to Asvarre to form the Free Atmoran Forces fighting against the Atmoran Republic till the liberation of Atmora in 1946.
