The Royal Atmoran Navy (Dutch: Rijksmarine RM) is the naval warfare service branch of the Atmoran Armed Forces. The Royal Atmoran Navy is amongst the largest and most powerful naval forces in the world, having the second highest combined battlefleet tonnage (3,897,686 tonnes as of 2016). The main rivals in Halkeginia for the Royal Atmoran Navy is the Aravean Navy and the Royal Vozhian Navy.
The Royal Atmoran Navy consists of seven components: Surface Fleet, Royal Atmoran Navy Submarine Service, Royal Atmoran Naval Air Service, Royal Marine Corps, Royal Atmoran Auxiliary Fleet, and the Royal Naval Medical Service. The Royal Atmoran Navy as 337,325 active personnel and 128,851 reserve personnel, supported by 10,800 civillian personnel.
The Royal Atmoran Navy traces it's lineage to the 16th century to the State Navy (Staatse Vloot) of the United Atmoran States established during the Atmoran War of Independence, following the dissolution of the United Provinces. The Royal Lieseltanian Navy was the successor to the State Navy, the Royal Lieseltanian Navy played a major role in events of Atmoran history. Following the unification of Atmora, the navies of the states of Atmora were merged into the Rijksvloot (Royal Fleet) in 18 October 1812. The Royal Atmoran Navy has played an important role in establishing and maintaining the Atmoran Empire for over 134 years.
In the Second Voshan War, the Rijksmarine was one of the greatest maritime powers in the world. However, following the Battle of the Castarcian Sea and the Battle of Prymora the Rijksmarine was effectively blockaded into the Halkeginian Sea for the rest of the war. During the interwar period and early into the Third Voshan War, the Rijksmarine had once again become the preeminent naval power in Halkeginia. Playing a prominment part in the early stages of the war with landing Royal Marines in Eastern Vozh. Following the outbreak of the Atmoran Civil War Her Majesty's Naval Forces mutineed against the Atmoran Union, taking with them roughly 30% of the Rijksmarine strength. With the 1946 Treaty of Leidschendam, the Rijksmarine was forced to disarm only keeping 3 of it's 38 aircraft carriers. During the Cold War with Aravea, the Parliament of Atmora passed the Naval Rearmament Act of 1951 to a establish a 400-ship Navy.
