The Besmenian schilling (Besmenian: Besmenischer Schilling, or colloquially called Schilling) is the official currency of the Federal Republic of Besmenia.
History
Introduction (1918)
Introduction in West Besmenia (1967)
In the course of monetary union with West Besmenia, the Schilling was introduced in West Besmenia on April 1, 1967. This was probably one of the biggest adjustments during the reunification process for the West Besmenian citizens, since the Schilling in West Besmenia was a symbol of the economic miracle and prosperity in the East Besmenian Federal Republic.

Stability

Commemorative coins
Since 1965, commemorative coins have been issued annually, which are also suitable for payment transactions. Until 1998 the BS5 coins were used for commemorative coins. After the BS5 coin was abolished in 1998 and replaced by the BS5 banknote, the BS2 coin has been used for commemorative coins ever since.
