1997 Sable Conflict Award is a military awarded presented to any member of the Lumenic Legion who participated in or in support of combat operations as part of the 1997 Sable Conflict, a small-scale military conflict fought between May 1 until August 31, 1997 between the nations of Luminerra and Notreceau.
History
The 1997 Sable Conflict Award was proposed by the Ministry of Defense on September 7, 1997 and approved by the Senātus in November that same year, with King Lorenzo III accepting the proposal on December 1st, 1997, allowing for the award to be instituted on January 1st, 1998.
Awarding and eligibility
The 1997 Sable Conflict Award is awarded to any member of the Lumenic Legion who has performed duty within the borders or airspace of the regions of Notteri and Pirago, or within the borders or airspace of the nation of Notreceau for a period of thirty consecutive days or sixty non-consecutive days between May 1 until August 31, 1997. Personnel who have been engaged in combat with an enemy force, or personnel who have been wounded in combat within the aforementioned locations, may receive the award regardless of the number of days spent within the combat zone. The 1997 Sable Conflict Award is also awarded posthumously to any service member who dies in the line of duty within the mentioned combat zone, including from non-combat injuries such as accidents and mishaps.
Authorized devices
All members of the Lumenic Legion who directly participate in combat operations during the campaign are also authorized to wear the victory device on the decoration in either bronze and silver, depending on how many previous successful campaigns they had participated in. Some members who received the award are also entitled to wear a arrowhead device on the award as well, specifically those who participated in the initial parachute assault on Sable
Examples of authorized devices on the 1997 Sable Conflict Award service ribbon:
