Provincial Diets of Vyvland

The Provincial Diets (Vyvlander: Lendjesdegen) are the regional assemblies of each province of Vyvland, elected every four years. Diets have law-making powers, although are wholly subordinate to the national Parliament. All residents over the age of 16 in each of the seventeen provinces elects representatives to a Diet, and all Diets must follow a system of proportional representation to elect members, who are known either as Representatives (Representeeren) or Provincial Governors (Lendjesguveneeren). The number of representatives in each diet varies greatly, from 200 in Stanmer to 38 in Wesel.

Diets also contain a small executive made up of members of a governing majority coalition (or in a few rare instances, a single party with majority); in fifteen provinces, these are headed by a Chancellor (Juncleer). If a coalition collapses and a vote of no confidence is passed by a Diet, new elections are held. However, the following election must be held at the same time as the quadrennial elections to the Diets of the other provinces.
