Spencer Elhort Newman (born August 16th, 1990) is a Zamastanian politician and activist serving as the Senator for Jade's 1st district since 2014. He was one of the youngest politicians ever elected when he joined the Jade provincial legislature at the age of 19 in 2009, and was one of the youngest people ever to serve in Congressional Hall at the age of 24. A member of the Green Liberal Party, he gained national recognition not only for his age, but for defeating incumbant senator Aaron Tradd who had held that seat since 1988. Newman remains a popular lawmaker among millenials. His political positions include supporting widening environmental protections, supporting single-payer healthcare and expanding ZamCare, and advocating for gun violence prevention.
