Al Basar is the third biggest city within the United Sultanates of Suhal, it is also the capital of the Al Basar Sultanate. Al Basar has a metro population of 1.6 million making it the third most populated city within the nation after [[Al Jahran]] and above [[Abellone]]. Characterized by its desert setting, skyscrapers and colorful nightlife Al Basar has earned an unofficial title as the "Oasis City". Founded 300 BC (estimated) Al Basar was a small trading town, located along the [[Basar Ridgeline]] it developed as a major waypoint for merchants crossing the desert towards [[Al Jahran]] and [[Al Suhal]]. When oil was discovered along the [[Basar Ridgeline]] in the 1930's Al Basar grew rapidly to accommodate rig and construction workers.
