Basar Ridgeline

The Basar Ridgeline is a stretch of the Al Basar desert geographically raised above the desert on which on which oil has been discovered. It has been reported as the "bloodline of Suhal" responsible for up to 80% of the Al Basar regional oil production and 60% of the national production. The Basar Ridgeline also passes through the Al Suhal and Al Jahran Sultanates, additionally providing a large percentage of oil to those regions. Its rocky outcrops stabilize the sand and other debris that gather around them, creating a raised, stable link between the three major regions in the United Sultanates of Suhal. Initially utilised as a trade route, initiating the creating the Al Basar township in the year 300 BC. When oil was discovered in the 1930's development around the Basar Ridgeline increased rapidly, largely experienced in the cities of Al Basar, Al Jahran and Al Suhal.
