Conference for the Masters of Tomorrow

The Conference for the Masters of Tomorrow (CMM)) is a youth competition organised by Free Democratic Youth and various levels of local administration in the United Kingdom of Malgrave. It is designed to increase interest in scientific development, engineering and technology and therefore spur a new generation of scientists and engineers, with medals being awarded as prizes.

History

While Malgrave was founded by a collective of engineers and scientists, an immediate concern was placed behind ensuring that the following generations retained this interest in scientific discovery and engineering accomplishments. A few proposals were discussed at the time, with one of them being the establishment of a yearly competition to promote innovation and showcase the work being done by the educational system.

In recognition of the fact that those awarded during the ceremony would be the building blocks of the future, it was decided to refer to the winners as the Masters of Tomorrow and so the wider competition is often called the conference for the masters of tomorrow and the first such conference was held on the 7th of August 1912 with the winning entrant submitting an idea concerning methods to reduce wastage in crop production.

After the Great Exodus responsibility for organising the Masters of Tomorrow was transferred to the Free Democratic Youth. It has steadily grown in size, with the last national competition held in Portmon lasting a month due to the number of submitted proposals and exhibits which required examination.

Organisation

The Conference for the Masters of Tomorrow is divided into four different stages, with success promoting each successful entrant onto the next stage of the competition.

Organisation Level	Description
Regional Social Solidarity Councils	Regional Social Solidarity Councils form the lowest stage of the competition, at this level, the number of competitors can vary widely per region dependent on local demographics. Afterwards, the winners of the RSSC stage are organised on the provincial lev
Provincial	As Provinces in Malgrave are formed from collections of Regional Social Solidarity Councils they form the next stage of the competition. It is this stage which is seen as the first serious challenge for entrants, as demographic problems in the lowest level of the competition can often mean that not all entrants are of the quality as others.
Regional	Those victorious in the Provincial competition are promoted to the Regionals, with the best entrants in regions such as Portmon, Aurora and the Research Colony competing to win a place in Nationals. It is a notably fierce competition, and so this stage of the process is even televised by the Malgravean Broadcasting Corporation
National	National competitions are held in different locations in Malgrave, with the most recent contest being held in Portmon over a month. It is a popular event, with many travelling from across the country to witness the competing entrants in person and so hosting the ceremony is considered quite prestigious. It is also even more fierce than regionals, as people often rally behind entrants from their hometown and such support can often get rather heated.

Notable Exhibits

The Conference for the Masters of Tomorrow has seen many notable exhibits over the years, with some of these entrants being immediately used or developed into something else.

Recent exhibits have showcased the use of nanotechnology in construction projects, and even highlighted technology which would later go on to be developed into the MalTec Ascension. Historically, the Conference has also seen developments around the exhibits, as the 1968 conference resulted in Ancestral Bread becoming a popular breakfast food.
