In 1978 Robert volunteered for service the [[Malgravean Air Force]] as an alternative to serving his conscription in the [[Territorial Defence Force (Malgrave)|Territorial Defence Force]]. Robert received their training at the National Air Force Academy in Epping, as part of their flight training they flew the propeller Avro Flea before transferring to a trainer version of the Avro Vampire.
 


Robert finished his training in 1980 receiving the rank of Junior Lieutenant.

Robert Leipzig is a Member of the Chamber of Representatives for the Progressive Unity Party. Between 2005 and 2015 they served as Minister for National Defence and oversaw the expansion and modernisation of the Malgravean Armed Forces.
