'''General elections''' were held in [[South Kabu]] on 9 April 2022.
The elections were called after the [[2021 South Kabuese coup d'état]] for the new [[Congress of Kabu]] which replaced the old [[South Kabu|People's Senate]]. The body was designed to be a {{wp|Non-partisan democracy|non-partisan legislature}} to prevent factionalism of partisanship, the [[Kabuese Section of the Workers' International|BKMI]] which had governed South Kabu since it's independence was thus prohibited from running in the election. Pro-reform politicians won 100 out of the 115 seats available with the 5 of the remaining seats being delegated to the various minorities of the [[Kabu|Kabuese archipelago]] including Masiorans and [[Gowsa|Gowsans]] and other [[Dezevau|Dezevauni people]]. 40 seats in the new Congress of Kabu were reserved for women.
[[Eko Dhimas]] was elected as Premier unanimously by the Congress of Kabu on 20 April.
