It played a major role in Xiaodongese politics particularly in its frequent insurrections against both the pre-war monarchy and post-war republic eventually allying with Lu Keqian's Shangean Regeneration Society that successfully overthrew the republic in the Corrective Revolution and subsequent civil war.
