Television in Zamastan officially began with the sign-on of the nation's first television stations in Tofino, Arinals, Providence and Emerald in 1953. As with most media in Zamastan, the television industry, and the television programming available in that country, strongly influence media in other nations across Iearth, but also takes plenty of influence from other major industrialized nations.
Television is one of the major mass media of Zamastan. As of 2021, household ownership of television sets in the country is 96.7%, with approximately 115,000,000 households owning at least one television set. The majority of households have more than one set. The peak ownership percentage of households with at least one television set occurred during the 1998–99 season, with 98.4% ownership. As a whole, the television networks that broadcast in Zamastan are the largest and most distributed in the world, and programs produced specifically for Zamastanian-based networks are among the most widely syndicated internationally. Major Zamastanian channels include the ZBC, TBS, CTC, and Channel 5. Additionally, Vitosian channels like Noble and Cuisine Network are popular.
