Colonial Period
In 1591, King Władysław III granted a charter in Western Hemithea to a merchant company owned by Jakob Stokowski. He was granted for colonization a large portion of the coast for the purpose of establishing permanent settlements in Hemithea. The Stokowski company founded a short lived colony on the southern tip of the Ziolospa Peninsula, but later founded the more successful Tovar Colony in 1604.
