The Besmenian Central Television (BZF, Besmenian: Besmenisches Zentralfernsehen) was the state television broadcaster of West Besmenia from 1940 to 1966.
After the first test broadcasts were broadcast in 1939, the channel went on air under the then name Melmingian Television (Besmenian: Melminger Fernsehen) on August 29, 1940 (Karl Ochsenbein's 61th birthday). In October 1941 the station was renamed in Besmenian Central Television .
Until the Besmenian reunification, the main owner of the station was the government of West Besmenia. During the Ochsenbein and Schreim era, the BZF was particularly useful for state propaganda. The Empire Ministry for Public Enlightenment and Culture was responsible for steering the content of the program until the political upheaval. After the end of the authoritarian regime, the station remained under the control of the state, but the previous censorship was abolished. In addition, propaganda shows were discontinued and the freedom of the press was introduced.
After the Besmenian reunification, BZF remained in the reunified Besmenia and came under the control of the BRF, and functioned as the public broadcaster of the West Besmenian states until February 1, 1969. BZF was discontinued on February 1, 1969.
