It is located on the ancient seabed of Lake Thakhsikala in the Qullqaquyllur highlands of central inland Kayahallpa. It has an urban population of 3,754,238 and is the center of the Tupawasi Metropolitan Area, which has an estimated 5.1 million residents. It is one of the highest-altitude cities in the world and is built around the site of the Tupawasi Palace Complex, one of the world's largest buildings and a historical residence of the former Kayahallpan royal family, the Sapa Inkas.
