Tupawasi (Kaya simi pronunciation: [tʊpæ'wæsɪ]) is the most important of the three capital cities of Kayahallpa. It is located on the ancient seabed of Lake Thakhsikala in the Qullqaquyllur highlands of central inland Kayahallpa. It has an urban population of 3,754,238 and is the center of the Tupawasi Metropolitan Area, which has an estimated 5.1 million residents. It is one of the highest-altitude cities in the world and is built around the site of the Tupawasi Palace Complex, one of the world's largest buildings and a historical residence of the former Kayahallpan royal family, the Sapa Inkas.

The city has been the nexus of two major empires, the Warisuyu in the 13th and 14th century and the Musuq Kayamucha between the 15th and 20th centuries.
