Iani is a Syaran city in Scitaria. It sits along the Gjik River, south of the Gjikev Bay. The city has a population of 746,220 as of 2020.
The area around Iani was inhabited by the Carasci in antiquity, before the area was conquered by the Bastarnae during the age of Classical Syara. The city was conquered by Orestes II and persisted throughout the Makedonian Empire, later becoming part of the Rioni Union. It grew substantially during the Syaran Succession Wars, and afterwards became a moderately important urban area during the Republic Era. During the Refusal War the city became a significant base of operations for the Wardens. After the establishment of the Commonality, Iani continued to serve as a major urban area for the Scitarian Realm. It is the birthplace of former Executive of Syara Radovan Kostović and is connected with many other Syaran urban areas through the Syaran Coastal Highway.
