The Ministry of Ethnic Minority Affairs (Namorese: Зукун Шошу Сиwубу) is a ministry within the Government of the People's Republic of Namor. It is responsible for maintaining communications and relationships between the Namorese government and non-Namorese ethnic minorities living within the PRN.
Prior to the Liberationist takeover, the Republic of Namor maintained a similar ministry, called the "Non-Namorese Affairs' Bureau." The Liberationists, while not in touch with ethnic minorities as the Republicans were, maintained various unofficial directorates that maintained communications with non-Namorese in Namor who sympathized with the Liberationists.
In NMR 2290, the Ministry of Ethnic Minority Affairs was first established, in an attempt to gain support among ethnic minorities for the new People's Republic, as several minority groups were loyal to the Republicans or just simply skeptical towards Liberationist rule. Throughout the First People's Republic, the Ministry closely cooperated with the government and the Liberationist Party Propaganda Department to encourage ethnic minorities to contribute to Namorese society. Other than that, its role was minuscule to say the very least.
After single-party rule, the Ministry began spending its time educating both Namorese and ethnic minorities on the Minjuha doctrine of inter-ethnic unity and Namorization, as well as overseeing the autonomous statuses of various ethnic minorities. To this day, the Ministry of Ethnic Minority Affairs is also dedicated to the preservation of ethnic minority culture, as well as economic aid towards autonomous areas governed by ethnic minorities.
