Kiều Hữu Dương (21 December 1895-31 July 1988) was a military officer that served in the Imperial Quenminese Army and the Royal Quenminese Army. He is considered to be one of the best officers to ever take command of a unit in the Quenminese military.
Military Career
First Europan War
When Phòng Thất, Emperor of Quenmin at that time, declared war upon the Imperials and their Archadian and Guadosalam allies, Hữu Dương was given command to invade the Imperial colony of East Hindalesia. He fought alongside a Gallian officer named Gilbert Gassenarl who was deployed to command the Altissian—Altissia is a Lucian Commonwealth nation—forces to counter the Imperial threat. Together, they've both had done well in keeping the Imperial forces occupied greatly.
His most controversial action during the Hindalesia Campaign was of his treatment of prisoners. He ordered his soldiers to do whatever it takes to elicit information from the enemy by any means necessary. This gave to the rise of using tiger cages to almost immobolize them, beat them up for no reason, and, as some rumors say, use acid for imposing pain; these methods were all for the sake of breaking the morale of his adversaries. The High Command has heard of his actions and they have given him a demotion to Major General as a result, albeit giving him the chance to stay in the military.
Second Europan War
During 1943, a battle-hardened Imperial Marshal named Lê Cuòng Gia was killed in action at Indiaen. Being a second-in-command, Hữu Dương was promoted to Imperial Marshal once again.
Post Second Europan War Crisis of 1945
During the Cao Khoat Trials, Dương was one of the 134 Quenminese officials who were tried for war crimes. Of the 134, 3/5ths were sentenced to death, Dương included. His judgement, however, came ahead before the others. On 30 September, Dương was supposed to be the first official to be executed by hanging. However, Lord Mountbatten intervened and asked to spare Dương. He was eventually released and Mountbatten granted him amnesty. With support from key Lucis Commonwealth Military Generals, including Dương's old enemy, Klankain Auchinleck, he was restored to the Quenminese Army and was responsible for rearming the force because of potential Lorican aggression ever since the communist rebellion took over rule might proceed with aggression on its neighboring countries.
Dương became the first leading Imperial Quenminese Army marshal to be restored to command. However, as part of his war crimes, Mountbatten had Dương stripped of his awards and honours (which was eventually restored in 1950), his pension reduced drastically, and was not allowed to hold military or political offices. He was, however, allowed to be an adviser in restoring and rearming the Imperial Quenminese Armed Forces alongside defected Archadian Marshal Victor Sazabio. He was also the first Quenminese marshal to speak and declare the Cà Ðinh Provisional Government as a rogue nation and immediately established the Quenminese Security Task Force to assist in putting down the remnants of Imperial forces in Northern Lorica.
