Helena has been inhabited for over 5,000 years, with evidence of [[Tangaran people|Tangaran]] transience in the area existing since at least this time. With strong Tangaran prevalence in local politics, Helena became a bastion of environmental preservation and did not heavily industrialize as many other colonies did.
