Kalua is a territory of Meridon, solely consisting of Kalua Island. It is bordered to the north by Smith Island, to the east by the Eastern Islands Territory, to the south by Taikorea and Silvers Island territories, and to the west by Redbird Territory. Kalua's capital and largest city is is Makohine, with Kaharoa being another notable city on the island.
Kalua has had transient inhabitation for nearly 5,000 years with native Tangaran populations and was inhabited in the mid 1600s by European groups arriving from Alexandria when it was integrated into Meridon proper. For most of Kalua's history, it has been a primarily agricultural state, which remains so to this day- over 60% of the island's production comes from forestry and agriculture. Recent inroads made by tourism and investments into industry have seen some shift in the regional economy in recent decades. Kalua has a rich Hispanic and Portugese influence laced into its culture,
Kalua is home to the endemic Kaluan Spicewood, a rare wood coveted for perfumes as well as ornamental uses. Its culture has vibrant Portugese and Hispanic influences, owing from large amounts of these ethnicities choosing to settle the island.
