Though disputed, he is considered the primary claimant to the {{wp|Abolished monarchy|defunct throne}} of the [[Iotopha#History|Shahdom of Iotopha]] under the name Mêrxas VIII. Mêrxas is a successful businessman, and founder of the [[Hazaraspid Group]], which has grown into a large real estate and development company. Despite this, he has continued to assert his claim as the legitimate ruler of Iotopha, but has stated that <nowiki>"it is not a priority at this time.</nowiki>
