The Shahdom of Iotopha was overthrown by the Democratic Republic of Iotopha during the 1920 revolution, with the execution of the last shah, Khusraw V, in 1924. The Government in exile of the Shahdom of Iotopha was proclaimed in XXXX, country, on 6 March 1959, by PREMIER, supporting the claim of [[Jorin, Shahzadeh of Iotopha]].
==Organization==
The Government in exile of the Shahdom of Iotopha is defined as a constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary system. In practice, the government in exile is composed of the [[Crown Council of Iotopha]]. The Crown Council is primarily composed exiled Iotophans, and royalist sympathizers. The National Assembly nominally serves as the unicameral legislature of the government in exile, though its membership is identical to the Crown Council. Any individual that has Iotophan descent, is a member of the Iotophan diaspora or exile community, or holds Iotophan citizenship is eligible to vote in National Assembly elections. The Monarch-in-exile appoints the Premier-in-exile from the Crown Council to serve as the first among equals of the Council.
 
The Shah serves as the monarch of the government in exile. He or she receives foreign heads of state that recognize the government in exile, grant honors and titles, grant assent to legislation, dissolve the legislature in exile, and serve as commander-in-chief of the armed forces.
